Who is the service for?
In order to be hired for pay-subsidised work by the City of Helsinki Social Services, Health Care and Rescue Services Division, you must be an unemployed jobseeker living in Helsinki and meet the criteria specified in the Act on the Organisation of Employment Services.
At least three (3) years must have passed since your previous pay-subsidised work period at the City of Helsinki before you can be employed again under the pay subsidy system or participate in pay-subsidised apprenticeship training.
In order to participate in pay-subsidised apprenticeship training, you must be an unemployed jobseeker living in Helsinki and entitled to pay subsidy, and at least three years must have passed since your previous pay-subsidised employment relationship with the City.

How can I participate in the service?
The client contacts their assigned specialist to confirm whether they meet the criteria for a pay-subsidised job. The client then agrees on the use of pay subsidy with their assigned specialist.
The requirements are that the criteria for pay-subsidised work are met and the application for pay subsidy is approved.
How is the service organised?
Pay-subsidised jobs in the City of Helsinki Social Services, Health Care and Rescue Services Division may be applied for by unemployed jobseekers living in Helsinki who are entitled to pay subsidy. The City’s pay-subsidised jobs are fixed-term employment relationships lasting for seven (7) months, and they cannot be extended. Clients may apply for pay-subsidised jobs independently if pay subsidy has been agreed on in the client’s employment plan. The employer interviews applicants and chooses an employee in accordance with the normal recruitment process.
The client is not allowed to start the job before the application for pay subsidy is approved. Once the application is approved, the employer will draw up the employment contract and sign it with the client.
