Low-threshold job search advice and guidance for Helsinki residents. The service includes things such as CV Workshops and other group-based workshops that support the job seeking, held remotely and in person.

The service is intended for all jobseekers living in Helsinki. You do not have to be a client of Helsinki Employment Services in order to participate in the service.
The service is intended for you if you need help with job seeking and would like to get your job search documents in order with the help of a brief service, for instance.
You must have a sufficient level of language proficiency to participate in the service without an interpreter.
You must be able to use a computer independently to work at a workshop.

You must sign up for the service in advance. Once you have done so, the service provider will send you an invitation and the necessary instructions for the workshop.
You can sign up directly for a particular workshop or sign up for the service in general, in which case the service provider will contact you to assess what is the best workshop for your needs.
If you would like to participate in the service in Swedish, but there is no Swedish-language workshop available on the order form, you can sign up for the service in general. The service provider will find a Swedish-language workshop for you separately.
Benefits of participating in the service
You can quickly get help with matters related to job seeking, such as preparing a CV and application letters.
The service includes various workshops that support job seeking, held both in person and remotely. You can take part in one or more workshops.
Examples of available workshops:

CV 1 – Introduction to CVs (for beginners)
This workshop is for you if you do not yet have a CV, i.e. resume. In this workshop, you will start drawing up your CV from scratch. You will receive guidance on what a good CV contains and how to build a clear and convincing CV.
Bring your work references and training certificates with you to draw up your CV immediately at the workshop. You will also need your email username and password, particularly if you are using a borrowed computer. You can also bring your personal computer.

CV 2 – Refining Your CV (update and completion)
This workshop is for you if you already have a completed or incomplete CV. You will receive guidance on how to update, clarify and improve your CV so that it better matches your job search goals.
Bring your existing CV with you on paper or in electronic form so that you can make the necessary changes to it immediately. You will also need your email username and password, particularly if you are using a borrowed computer. You can also bring your personal computer.

Efficient Job Seeking – Instructions for Goal-Oriented Job Seeking
In this workshop, you will learn how job seeking works in practice and where you can find job vacancies. You will gain a clear overall picture of the job search process and learn tangible ways to make progress in your job search and make it more efficient and goal-oriented.
In the workshop, we will go through the key job search channels and how to save a search, create job applicant profiles and use Job Market Finland. You will learn how to search for suitable jobs and stay up to date on new job opportunities.
The workshop is a particularly good fit for you if you do not know where to look for jobs or you would like to clarify your job search and get started.
Bring your online banking credentials with you so that you can log in to Job Market Finland. You can also bring your email username and password. You can borrow a computer for the duration of the workshop. You can also bring your personal computer.

Job Application
In the workshop, you will receive tangible and practical guidance on preparing job applications.
The workshop will teach you the difference between a job application and a CV and why a job application is important in job seeking, among other things. The workshop will go through the structure of a job application and different types of job applications for different purposes.
Prepare for the workshop by looking up a job that interests you and bring the associated job advertisement with you. In the workshop, you will prepare an application for the job in question.
You should also bring your email username and password with you. This is important if you will be using a borrowed computer in the workshop. You can borrow a computer for the duration of the workshop. You can also use your personal computer.

Hidden Jobs
This workshop will go over what hidden jobs are, where you can find them and how you should approach the employer.
The workshop will provide you with new insight and ideas for job seeking, and you will be able to open new paths forward in your job search. The workshop will approach the topic from a very practical perspective, actually helping you look for hidden jobs for yourself.
To prepare for the workshop, come up with one or two workplaces/employers that interest you. In other words, a hidden job is a job opportunity that cannot be found through any job search channel.

AI in Job Seeking
In this workshop, you will receive tangible and practical guidance on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in job seeking. Among other things, the workshop will teach you how to make use of AI in job seeking, preparing job application documents, preparing for job interviews and finding career opportunities.
Prepare for the workshop by learning a bit more about the use of AI in advance if you have yet to try it.
Bring with you your current CV on paper or in electronic form and an open job advertisement and possible application for it. You should also bring your email username and password with you. This is important if you will be using a borrowed computer in the workshop. You can borrow a computer for the duration of the workshop. You can also use your personal computer.
Conditions for participating in the service
The service is available in Finnish, Swedish and English. The service can also be provided in sign language (Finnish, Finland-Swedish and American Sign Language). The service provider is responsible for organising sign language interpreting.
You must have a sufficient level of language proficiency, meaning that you are able to talk with the instructor and other participants without the help of an interpreter or assistant.
You must be able to use a computer independently to work in a workshop.
If you participate in a remote workshop, you must have your own computer or mobile device in order to attend the remote meeting and complete the required tasks.
In-person workshops offer the opportunity to borrow a computer for the duration of the workshop. You can also use your personal computer.
How can I participate in the service?
The service is provided at the Itäkeskus and Kamppi offices of Helsinki Employment Services and via a remote connection. The service provider is Y4 Works Oy.
A single workshop lasts 1.5 hours.
The maximum number of participants in an in-person workshop is 10 people. For remote workshops, the maximum number of participants is 15 people.

If you have not booked an appointment in advance, take a queue number, have a seat in the waiting room and you will be called for your appointment.
If possible, come in the morning to avoid the afternoon rush. The busiest time is typically between 11.00 and 15.00. You can use the post box in the 4th floor staircase to drop off any post. The staircase can be accessed on weekdays from 6.00 to 20.00 and on Saturdays from 7.30 to 16.00.
On most days, there is a security guard at our door to guide you. If you are unsure how to proceed, you can ask the guard for advice.
The entrance is located on the Lyypekinkuja side. Drop-off traffic can stop right in front of the entrance. There is no accessible parking in the immediate vicinity of the entrance, but there is a large parking area in front of the building with three accessible parking spaces fairly close to the entrance of Employment Services. There are two consecutive steps at the entrance, with handrails on one side. The entrance has a steep ramp less than 6 m long with handrails on both sides. The entrance doors are clearly discernible. There is enough free space outside the door to accommodate assistive devices, such as a wheelchair. The door opens automatically with the push of a button. The service point is located on floor 4. The facilities have a lift with wheelchair access and an automatic door opening mechanism. The floor numbers of the lift can be felt with your fingers.

You can visit the advice services during our opening hours. You will not need an appointment. If you have not booked an appointment in advance, take a queue number and sit in the waiting room. Please note that the advice service may be congested from time to time.
