How can I participate in the service?
Employment Espoo will guide you to become a client of the competence centre. Once you are accepted to the competence centre, you will receive an invitation to an initial information session. As a client of the competence centre, you will attend meetings and events both via a remote connection and in person in Otaniemi and elsewhere in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area. Clients are continuously guided to the competence centre.
Participating in the service requires you to have a degree from a higher education institution.
Our goal is to find you a job in your field. You will receive support in order to gain an understanding of the Finnish labour market in your field. We will help you focus your job search, find the right employers, draw up a CV and job application, prepare for job interviews, grow your networks and find peer support.
After participating in the service, you will know more about your field in Finland, know how to search for jobs in Finland, be able to talk about your strengths and skills, and know which services can help you in the future.
The Espoo employment area does not have to fill in consent forms. The Espoo Competence Centre for Highly Educated Immigrants will fill in a separate consent form with the client.
How is the service organised?
You will attend an initial information event to learn more about the service. At this event, you will be scheduled an appointment for your first career guidance session, where your situation (education, career, situation in life, goals, motivation) will be assessed, you will learn more about the services available, and your employment/integration plan will be updated.
At the Competence Centre for Highly Educated Immigrants, you will be offered breakfast networking events, job search workshops, comments on your job search documents, career planning events, visits to employers, lists of suitable vacancies, and support from business coordinators.
Clients are directed to the service and can start it at different times during the year. The service is organised as a hybrid service both via a remote connection and in person in Otaniemi, Espoo. You can remain our client for up to 10 months. We will find you services that best support your employment, such as language courses, identification and recognition of your skills, supplementing your skills, coaching, mentoring programmes, programmes that promote wellbeing, and training programmes.
