How can I participate in the service?

You can access Omnia’s career guidance services by making an appointment through the appointment calendar or by contacting Omnia Service Centre. You do not need to be a client of employment services or obtain a positive decision in order to participate in the service.

You cannot use career guidance as a supplementary job search discussion with employment services.

Benefits of participating in the service

Career guidance gives you the opportunity to stop and reflect on your skills and goals together with a professional. You can attend more than one meeting depending on your needs. You will receive information on education and training options that are of interest to you and services suitable for your needs.

The vocational counsellor will help you talk about your skills and also recognise any skills that you have gained outside the workplace. By working with the vocational counsellor, you can find the right path for you at this moment.

If necessary, the vocational counsellor will direct you to the right service to help you achieve your goals.

Conditions for participating in the service

You can become a career guidance client if you live in Finland and would like to plan your study path with a vocational counsellor.

You can also take part in career guidance anonymously, for example at the Employment Espoo Information Point.

    How is the service organised?

Omnia’s open career guidance is intended for people who are unemployed or without a student place. You can also seek help from career guidance if you are employed and need support for exploring your study options.

Whether your goal is vocational education and training, higher education or more short-term training, a vocational counsellor can help you.

In Omnia’s career guidance, you and the vocational counsellor will work together to identify your existing skills and find out what kind of education and training would best support your goals in working life. You will also receive information on how to secure your livelihood while studying and the different support options available.
