How can I participate in the service?
You can access Omnia’s career guidance services by making an appointment through the appointment calendar or by contacting Omnia Service Centre. You do not need to be a client of employment services or obtain a positive decision in order to participate in the service.
You cannot use career guidance as a supplementary job search discussion with employment services.
Conditions for participating in the service:
You can become a career guidance client if you live in Finland and would like to plan your study path with a vocational counsellor.
Benefits of participating in the service:
Career guidance gives you the opportunity to stop and reflect on your skills and goals together with a professional. You can attend more than one meeting depending on your needs. You will receive information on education and training options that are of interest to you and services suitable for your needs.
The vocational counsellor will help you talk about your skills and also recognise any skills that you have gained outside the workplace. By working with the vocational counsellor, you can find the right path for you at this moment.
If necessary, the vocational counsellor will direct you to the right service to help you achieve your goals.
You can also take part in career guidance anonymously, for example at the Employment Espoo Information Point.
How is the service organised?
Omnia’s open career guidance is intended for people who are unemployed or without a student place. You can also seek help from career guidance if you are employed and need support for exploring your study options.
Whether your goal is vocational education and training, higher education or more short-term training, a vocational counsellor can help you.
In Omnia’s career guidance, you and the vocational counsellor will work together to identify your existing skills and find out what kind of education and training would best support your goals in working life. You will also receive information on how to secure your livelihood while studying and the different support options available.
Where and when?
There are a few disabled parking spaces in the car park near the entrances.
The Kirkkokatu campus is located in the Espoo centre, near Turunväylä. The campus is easily accessible by public transport from the Espoo city centre, on foot from the train station or by bus close to the campus. We recommend using public transport, as there is a limited number of parking spaces on the campus.
If you come by car, parking spaces are located behind the building. For visitors, there are 2-hour parking spaces that can be used with a parking disc in the parking area of Kirkkokatu 16 A. There are parking spaces that can be used with a 2-hour parking disc along Kirkkokatu. If your visit lasts more than two hours on Mon–Fri between 7.00 and 16.00, you will need a visitor parking permit from the building manager. Some parking spaces are reserved for students in the area.
The facilities can be entered via the main entrances of staircases A and B, which are located on the Kirkkokatu side. You can easily find the main entrance to Kirkkokatu 16 A near the outdoor artwork ANIMO, while the main entrance to section B is located on the right side of the building, near the bus stop.
From 15 September 2025 onwards, you can meet with the vocational counsellors on a walk-in basis at the Omnia Service Centre on Kirkkokatu on Mondays between 12.00 and 14.00. At these times, the vocational counsellors will offer quick advice on applications and training (15–30 min).
