Conditions for participating in the service:

Depending on the field of study, participation in the training may require a good level of physical fitness or other similar things necessary for employment, for instance. Read the more detailed descriptions of the fields of study here (in Finnish)!

    How is the service organised?

A working life specialist from Varia can help jobseekers with this by assessing the client’s situation together with the client and identifying suitable training for them.

The goal is for the jobseeker to find a job on the open labour market, a hidden job or a job at one of the City of Vantaa’s partner companies through rapid short-term training.

The ‘From Varia to work’ guidance sessions and training programmes primarily seek to provide the participant with a short training path towards employment. The participant’s training may be customised with consideration to their personal needs and desired job.

Inside Varia, the client can be guided to short-term training, qualification units, or training leading to a qualification or degree, for instance. Participants in the pilot will receive support for their employment and the development of their skills from Varia’s extensive network and the guidance provided by specialists.

The training included in the ‘From Varia to work’ pilot is implemented at Varia’s Hiekkaharju, Aviapolis, Myyrmäki and Koivukylä campuses. The location depends on the field of study.
