Training organised as labour market training is free of charge, while training organised as independent studies may include course and/or material fees that the client has to pay themselves.
Who is the service for?
- Primarily intended for unemployed jobseeker clients.
- For clients working part-time who are able to participate in the training while working.
- The client wishes to use Swedish as their integration language and has an actual need/capability to integrate in Swedish in the Uusimaa region.
- The client is entitled to rehabilitation services if it has been less than three years since their first residence permit was granted or they registered in Finland (citizens of the EU and EEA). Their first integration plan must have been drawn up within this time limit. The first integration plan is drawn up for a maximum period of one year.
- However, clients who are not covered by the Act on the Promotion of Immigrant Integration, i.e. who are not within their integration period, may still, under certain conditions, have the opportunity to participate in Swedish-language integration training or studies on a recreational/part-time basis.

How can I participate in the service?
In order to apply for integration training or independent studies during your integration period, you must be a client of an employment authority and entitled to an integration plan. Before you can be directed to the service, you must first present a valid residence permit or a certificate of a pending extended permit. Citizens of the EU and EEA must present a European Union citizen registration certificate. You and your assigned integration services specialist will draw up an integration plan for you, agreeing on things such as services promoting integration.
The service supports your integration in Swedish, and the goal is for you to enter Finland’s open labour market.
