In order to participate in the service, you must have a sufficient level of language proficiency without the help of an interpreter as well as sufficient digital skills. At your assigned specialist’s discretion, you may also participate in the service in other circumstances (such as if you have been temporarily laid off, work part-time or are a student or entrepreneur), provided that you are able to commit to intensive group coaching.

How can I participate in the service?

If you are interested in participating in the coaching, please submit a contact request via Job Market Finland’s E-services or tell your assigned specialist through another channel that you would like to participate in Job Path Coaching. You cannot sign up for Path Coaching by yourself; the request must be made by a specialist of the Raseborg employment area.

Conditions for participating in the service:

Participation in the service requires sufficient language proficiency so that you can talk with both the coach and the other participants (e.g. approximately proficiency level B1.2 at least). You must also have sufficient digital skills.

You must be able to participate in the group service on a full-time basis, from 9.00 to 15.00 from Monday to Friday.

Benefits of participating in the service:

A great deal of practical information is available about Job Path Coaching via job search processes and channels. The coaching will improve your job search skills and you will receive support for applying for jobs. If you do not immediately find a job or another solution during the coaching, the service will still provide you with a realistic and practical plan on how to proceed, and you will be able to search for a job more independently after the coaching.

Additionally, compensation for expenses (€9/day) will be paid for the duration of the group portion, regardless of whether the coaching takes place in person or via a remote connection. The payer of the unemployment benefit (Kela or an unemployment fund) will pay you the compensation for expenses without a separate application. The payer of the benefit makes the final decision on payment.

    How is the service organised?

Job Path Coaching combines intensive group-based job search coaching (lasting five days) and an individual follow-up path (roughly two months).

The group-based job search coaching is generally provided with a hybrid model: the first and last days are always in the form of in-person work, and there may be up to three (3) remote work days during the week. The service duration covers the group coaching, the month during which the group coaching ends, and the following two calendar months.

The goal is to put a stop to unemployment, find a job, or start training or a work try-out as soon as possible or gain the skills necessary to participate in the aforementioned solutions. Additionally, you will have a realistic and practical plan on how to proceed at the end of the coaching.

The overall duration of the Job Path Coaching service is 2–3 months, and it includes:

Group-based job search coaching (duration: five days)

The group service is provided on weekdays, roughly from 9.00 to 15.00.

The group has 8–14 participants, and the group composition remains the same throughout the group coaching.

During the group service, the following and other matters are discussed:

    • drawing up and updating job search documents
    • finding hidden jobs and establishing contacts with employers
    • preparing for a job interview
    • introduction to various job search channels
    • applying for a job and/or a work try-out
    • making use of social media in the job search
    • self-employment and entrepreneurship
    • identifying and marketing your own skills
    • working life skills and expectations in relation to the labour market situation
    • unemployment and self-esteem, and utilising peer support
    • increasing knowledge about industries and professions according to the needs of the target group and/or participants in order to facilitate their employment.

After the group service, the coaching continues in the form of an individual follow-up path (lasting for roughly two months)

    • The service provider agrees on the content of the follow-up path with you at the end of the group-based job search coaching. During the follow-up path, you are offered 2–12 hours of individual guidance. Additionally, the service provider may offer you group-based coaching if they wish.
    • During the service, you can complete 1–2 competence certifications if you need them for your employment and are unable to complete them through any other channel.
    • The licences and competence passports that you can complete include: occupational safety card, hot work licence, alcohol passport, hygiene passport and age limit passport.
