If you would like to become a client of OSKE, inform employment services about your wish. Your assigned specialist will decide whether OSKE is the right service for you.

Conditions for participating in the service:

You can become a client of OSKE if you are 18 or older, live in Espoo or Kauniainen, and have a residence permit. You must also be prepared to study or work full-time (about eight hours a day).

You will get the most out of OSKE if your starting Finnish proficiency level is A2.2 or higher.

You can become a client of OSKE once employment services have made the decision to approve your participation.

Benefits of participating in the service:

At OSKE, we have a large team of professionals well-versed in working life in Finland who will support your employment. A large proportion of those who come to OSKE find a job or student place.

As a client of OSKE, you will receive individual career guidance to help you find a job or student place. You can take part in job search coaching or labour market training that will strengthen your vocational skills.

OSKE’s study paths are a good option for you if you are interested in working at a store, daycare centre or in property maintenance, for example, but you do not have the skills required in the industry. Over the course of the short training programme, you will gain skills that will help you find a job.

When you request to become a client of OSKE, you consent to employment services disclosing your information. Omnia Skills Centre’s services are multiprofessional and therefore require your consent for the exchange of information between parties within the Skills Centre. The consent form has been translated into different languages and easy Finnish, and we will review it at the first meeting. You can also choose to limit your consent to only some of the parties.

    How is the service organised?

A client relationship with OSKE lasts for 3–12 months. The duration of your client relationship depends on the kind of support that you need to find a job.

    Competence assessment

Your client relationship with OSKE will start with a skills assessment. During this assessment, we will work with you to determine whether you need to upgrade your skills in order to find a job. If you would like to become a client of OSKE, inform employment services about it.

Your assigned specialist will decide whether OSKE is the right service for you.
The assessment period involves you working with an OSKE employee to draw up a plan on your job search or participation in training.

After the assessment period, you will move on to the Job Search Path or Training Path.

    Job Search Path

If you are ready to work but have not yet found a job, the Job Search Path is perfect for you.

On the Job Search Path, you will receive help from a team of job search professionals. They will help you find job vacancies, draw up job applications and prepare for job interviews.

OSKE employs business coordinators who are in contact with employers and can help you find a job. The maximum duration of the Job Search Path is three months. If you find a job, you can stop participating in the service.

    Training Path

The Training Path is the right option for you if you need to upgrade your skills in order to find employment. The Training Path lasts for about five months.

There are three alternative Training Paths: the care and education sectors, the service sector, and the property maintenance and technology sectors. We will choose a path for you based on your vocational interests.

In the training programmes, you will practise handling situations that occur in working life and learn about the requirements of working life. The training will include an apprenticeship period. You will also study mathematics and vocabulary related to the profession. During the training, you will have the opportunity to earn a hygiene passport, an occupational safety card or another card or licence that will support your employment.

Additional information on required language proficiency

You can become a client of OSKE if you are able to tell us in Finnish about your aspirations, goals and situation.

As a client of the Skills Centre, you will receive a wide range of support and guidance on your job search, education and training. In order to participate in the service, you must have a basic command of Finnish (at least proficiency level A1.3, oral and written). Your Finnish proficiency will develop and you will receive support for strengthening your professional Finnish during the service, but you should learn the basics before becoming a client of the Skills Centre. This way, you will get the most out of our services.

We expect jobseekers to have a Finnish proficiency level of at least A2, which is often required in working life. As a client of the Skills Centre, you will receive support for strengthening your Finnish proficiency to promote your employment. You can also apply for the Skills Centre’s Job Search Path if your Finnish proficiency level is A2.2 or higher.
