Benefits of participating in the service
When choosing training and during the training, you will have direct contact with the employer, as the training is aimed directly at finding employment. The training will take place in a professional learning environment at an educational institution, and it will focus specifically on practising the work duties that you will need to know in order to start the job.
Conditions for participating in the service
The short-term training is available to: clients of the Espoo–Kauniainen employment area who are unemployed, at risk of becoming unemployed or already participating in a service that promotes employment.
Nature of the work and health requirements
Some of the short-term training courses prepare you for industries where the work is physically demanding (e.g. the work may involve a great deal of standing, lifting or working in cold production facilities). You should take this into account when applying for the training.
Language of the training courses and language proficiency requirements
Most of the training courses are organised in Finnish, and they prepare participants for work in which Finnish is the workplace language. In Finnish-language training courses, participants must have a sufficient level of Finnish proficiency in order to understand the instructions and follow them.
The language proficiency requirement varies from training to training, but typically the required level is A1–B1.
Training courses may also be organised in other languages. This is clearly indicated in the training description.
In order for you to participate in the service, Employment Espoo must review your labour market status, meaning confirm that you are a client of Employment Espoo and unemployed or furloughed. In order for you to participate in the training, the educational institution must be allowed to process your personal data during the training and disclose information about the progress of the training to Employment Espoo for statistics purposes and to monitor the service.
How can I participate in the service?
Short-term training courses are purchased by Employment Espoo and implemented in collaboration with companies. The training courses are organised with education providers who are knowledgable in different fields, and their content is planned to meet employers’ needs.
The short-term training courses combine the improvement of professional skills, a meeting with the employer, and a job interview. The goal is a rapid and smooth transition from training to employment.
