No prior education or work experience is required. You must be able to communicate in Finnish.
At the start of the workshop period, you will draw up a target plan together with the workshop instructor based on your personal needs, wishes and plan for the future. You will review and update the plan with your personal instructor during the workshop period.
Work try-out participants have the opportunity to raise the grades in their primary and lower secondary education certificate and receive study coaching during the workshop period. Additionally, there are several personal coaches working in the workshop community who can offer support and encouragement in all phases of the job search process and when searching for a student place, as needed.
How is the service organised?
Besides workshop-specific basic exercises, a workshop period also includes various exercises for individuals and groups as well as small-group coaching (focusing on the themes of employment, studies, housing and finances). You will also receive guidance on further studies and your job search as well as support for improving your learning skills, as needed. You can earn the hygiene pass and occupational safety card and complete the First Aid 1 course.
Kitchen workshop
At the kitchen workshop, you can make lunch for the entire workshop community in a professional kitchen almost on a daily basis. The popular Café Kuu at the kitchen workshop allows you to practise making speciality coffees and learn customer service. You will earn the hygiene passport during the work try-out.
Culture workshop
At the culture workshop, you have the opportunity to film videos, take photos, make visual art and practise communications, among other things. You will learn more about current matters and phenomena.
Crafts workshop
At the crafts workshop, you have the opportunity to try various crafts, such as sewing, knitting, making of interior design and decorative items, ceramics, and woodworking and surface finishing.
