International Talent Employment Service - ITES
The objective of the service is to help immigrants with a higher education find a job in their field. The service cooperates with employers. The service is available to clients of Helsinki Employment Services who live in Helsinki.
This service is suitable for you if:
- you live in Helsinki
- you are an immigrant
- you have a higher education (at least a bachelor’s degree)
- you are unemployed or work part-time
- you have work experience in your field or a degree completed within the last 10 years
- you can speak Finnish or Swedish at least at the B1 level; you can participate in the service even if you do not speak Finnish or Swedish if it is possible to find a job in English in your field: e.g. ICT, business or research (in which case your English proficiency must be at the C1 level)
- you have the motivation and capability to find a job matching your skills.

Clients are directed to the service throughout the year. You can tell your assigned specialist at Helsinki Employment Services that you are interested in this service. You can also send email to internationaltalent@hel.fi.
The team will assess whether you meet the criteria for participation. If you do, you will be invited to an information session. After the information session, you can make the final decision on whether you would like to sign up for the service.
Benefits of participating in the service
Our new service supports you in your integration and helps you find a job matching your skills. Additionally, we help employers find skilled employees. The purpose of the service is to increase diversity in the workforce and make sure that international talents wish to stay in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area.
Through our service:
- you can benefit from the meetings with experts, visits to companies and job search coaching that we offer
- you can become more familiar with the Finnish labour market and employers
- our experts can direct you to training and other services and help you grow your professional network and develop your language proficiency.
Conditions for participating in the service
- You have immigrated to Finland.
- You live in Helsinki.
- You have a higher education (at least a bachelor’s degree).

How can I participate in the service?
Once you have decided to participate in the service, a new specialist will be assigned to you. The new specialist will promote your employment comprehensively. Besides supporting the job search process, we also cooperate with employers.
In addition to helping update employment/integration plans and providing other statutory services, our service path includes:
- individual and group coaching
- a series of job search workshops
- visits to companies
- networking events
- individual support, e.g. mock job interviews.
We also offer support and advice on developing your Finnish proficiency. Additionally, we utilize digital skills mapping and labor market statistics in our work.

You can visit the advice services during our opening hours. You will not need an appointment. If you have not booked an appointment in advance, take a queue number and sit in the waiting room. Please note that the advice service may be congested from time to time.
You can use the post box outside the office to drop off any post.
When you arrive for your booked appointment, you can take the lift or the stairs directly to the floor indicated in the invitation message and wait there. You do not have to check in separately.
If you are not sure where you should go, you can ask the advisory services workers on the street level or a security guard for help.
