Career Boost Program in Business Accounting
Studies for immigrants with a higher education degree in business accounting completed abroad. The program deepens your accounting expertise and strengthens the Finnish needed for expert roles in financial administration in Finland.

The program is intended for financial administration professionals who have:
- a foreign-language background
- a higher education degree in business accounting (or an equivalent degree) completed abroad, and work experience in financial administration
- Finnish language skills at least at level B1 (Common European Framework of Reference, CEFRexternal link, opens in a new tab)
- motivation to update their financial administration expertise from the perspective of Finnish working life
- motivation to find employment in their own field in Finland.

How can I participate in the service?
The scope of the program is 40 ECTS credits. The studies include financial accounting, payroll, cost accounting, controlling, tax law, corporate law, and business analytics.
The program consists of the following study units:
- External Accounting (10 ECTS)
- Management Accounting (5 ECTS)
- Business Analytics and Tools (10 ECTS)
- Professional Development and Career Coaching (5 ECTS)
- Professional Finnish (10 ECTS)
Teaching is delivered on campus on weekdays from 9 am to 4 pm. The duration of the program is always less than 6 months. Contact teaching takes place at Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, Myllypuro Campus, Myllypurontie 1, Helsinki.
During the program, students learn to:
- find information on Finnish legislation
- prepare tax returns and financial statements according to Finnish practice
- make bookkeeping entries
- use an accounting software (Procountor)
- interpret financial statements
- prepare budgets and cost calculations
- analyze data (Power BI)
- automate manual tasks (Power Automate)
- create their own business applications (Power Apps).
