How can I participate in the service?
You can sign up for the service at any time. If you are interested in participating in the coaching, please submit a contact request via Job Market Finland’s E-services or contact your assigned specialist.
You can participate in the coaching in Finnish, Swedish or English. You must have a sufficient level of language proficiency, meaning that you are able to talk with the coach without the help of an interpreter or assistant. Coaching may also be provided in sign language.
You may have health difficulties or other factors hindering your employment. Because the goal of the coaching is your employment, your work ability must allow you to at least participate in a work try-out or part-time work, for instance.
Job coaching is a personal guidance service tailored to your personal needs and situation. You will be supported by a coach, with whom you will be able to seek solutions promoting employment through goal-oriented work.
You will receive support for finding a job or a study place and applying for them, as well as entering or consolidating an employment relationship. The coaching is a good fit for you if you are considering changing careers or planning on becoming an entrepreneur. During the coaching, you will receive information on different work and training options as well as support for identifying your skills.
During the coaching, you can complete certificate training or a competence passport (occupational safety card, hot work licence, alcohol passport, age limit passport and hygiene passport) if the lack of such a certificate/passport prevents your employment.
If you do not have a computer, you may use the service provider’s computer during in-person meetings if needed.
How is the service organised?
The service entails personal and long-term job coaching for clients of Vantaa Employment and Integration Services.
The service may include completion of a competence passport or certificate training in order to promote employment. Certificate training can be chosen as part of the coaching when requesting the coaching. If certificate training was not agreed on when the coaching was requested, you can agree on certificate training with the service provider.
You can choose to complete one of the following competence passports:
- occupational safety card
- hot work licence
- alcohol passport
- age limit passport
- hygiene passport.
You can agree on the meeting dates and times for the coaching with the coach. The meetings may take place in person or via a remote connection. The first meeting will be an in-person meeting unless you agree on other arrangements with your assigned specialist. The service is implemented in Vantaa. You must participate in the coaching for at least two hours per month. If you find a job during the coaching or start studying, for example, this obligation to participate for two hours per month no longer applies.
The first coaching meeting must take place within 10 weekdays of the start date. The earliest possible start date is always the next weekday following the date on which the service was requested. The starting month of the service is the calendar month during which the start date takes place. The service concludes at the end of its maximum duration, which means the initial month + five calendar months.
