How is the service organised?
Job Path Coaching is a coaching service provided by Helsinki Employment Services for its jobseeker clients, combining group-based job search coaching (five days) and an individual follow-up path.
The group-based job search coaching is generally provided with a hybrid model: the first and last days are always in the form of in-person work, and there may be up to three (3) remote work days during the week. The service duration covers the group coaching, the month during which the group coaching ends, and the following two calendar months. The group coaching is held on weekdays from 9.00 to 15.00. The in-person days are held in the service provider’s premises located at Ruoholahdenkatu 14.
The goal is to put a stop to unemployment, find a job, or start training or a work try-out as soon as possible or gain the skills necessary to participate in the aforementioned solutions. Additionally, you will have a realistic and practical plan on how to proceed at the end of the coaching.
The overall duration of the Job Path Coaching service is 2–3 months, and it includes: group-based job search coaching (8–12 people, a minimum of eight participants) lasting for five days, during which the group will discuss topics such as the following:
- drawing up and updating job search documents
- finding hidden jobs and establishing contacts with employers
- preparing for a job interview
- introduction to various job search channels and Helsinki’s online employment services
- applying for a job and/or a work try-out
- making use of social media in the job search
- self-employment and entrepreneurship
- identifying and marketing your own skills
- working life skills and expectations in relation to the labour market situation
- unemployment and self-esteem, and utilising peer support
- increasing knowledge about industries and professions according to the needs of the target group and/or participants in order to facilitate their employment.
And a roughly two-month-long individual follow-up path:
- The service provider agrees on the content of the follow-up path with you at the end of the group-based job search coaching. During the follow-up path, you are offered 2–12 hours of individual guidance. Additionally, the service provider may offer you group-based coaching if they wish.
- Duration of the follow-up path: the month during which the group coaching ends and the following two (2) calendar months. During the service, you can complete 1–2 competence certifications if they support your employment situation.
- During the service, you also have the opportunity to complete the following licences and competence passports: occupational safety card, hot work licence, alcohol passport, hygiene passport and age limit passport.
