Who is the service for?
Rehabilitative work activities are intended for you if you have challenges related to your work ability and functional capacity and have been unemployed for an extended period of time, and these things make it challenging for you to enter the workforce or participate in other employment services.

How can I participate in the service?
You can access rehabilitative work activities by being directed to them by the Employment Services of Kerava and Sipoo. Submit a contact request to your assigned specialist via the e-services or phone service if you would like to be contacted as soon as possible, or express your interest during a scheduled appointment. Before you can start rehabilitative work activities, an activation plan or a multi-sectoral employment plan will be drawn up for you, covering the details and goals of your rehabilitative work activities and the support you will receive during the activities.
You receive labour market subsidy or social assistance on the basis of long-term unemployment. You have already received other services, or other services are not an option. You are motivated to participate in the service. Rehabilitative work activities are agreed upon in your activation plan or multi-sectoral employment plan.
- The purpose of rehabilitative work activities is to improve your life management skills and promote the conditions for your employment.
- Participating in the activities can help you discover your skills and interests.
- You can strengthen the general skills required in working life, such as working in a working group, providing customer service, and communication.
- You are entitled to receive labour market subsidy or social assistance from Kela for the duration of the rehabilitative work activities. Additionally, you can receive compensation for expenses from Kela for the days on which you participate in rehabilitative work activities. The compensation for your travel expenses for the duration of the rehabilitative work activities is in accordance with the price of a 30-day public transport season ticket.
How is the service organised?
Rehabilitative work activities comprise 4–8 hours of work on 2–4 days a week. The work activity period lasts for at least three months, and you can keep participating in the same rehabilitative work activity workshop for up to one year. The maximum number of work activity days per 12 months is 178.
In the wellbeing services county of Vantaa and Kerava, rehabilitative work activities are organised at coaching houses, of which Valtti and Jenga are located in Kerava, while Reeli, Luxi and Koutsi are located in Vantaa. Rehabilitative work activities can also be organised in the form of group activities.
At Valtti, rehabilitative work activities are available at the following workshops: packaging and assembly, cleaning services, logistics, textile work and crafts, WEEE dismantling, and the Olkkari low-threshold group.
At Jenga (for people under the age of 30), rehabilitative work activities are available at the following workshops: cleaning services, the Fokus media workshop, the Olkkari low-threshold workshop, and the Voimala coaching workshop.
The workshops offered at Luxi (in Tikkurila) include: the kitchen workshop, cleaning services, crafts, the Opastin digital workshop, the Valokeila workshop for those about to enter the workforce or start their studies, and the youth group.
The workshops offered at Reeli (in Koivukylä) include: the kitchen workshop, logistics and furniture recycling, the laundry workshop, cleaning services, the renovation workshop, and the WEEE recycling workshop.
At Koutsi (in Tuupakka), rehabilitative work activities are available at the following workshops: the kitchen workshop, cleaning services, woodworking and furniture restoration, textile work and crafts, and the digital workshop.
Integrated locations for rehabilitative work activities can be situated in the premises of different City divisions (e.g. early education centres, schools, services for older people), government agencies, organisations, foundations or associations.
