    Stadin Futura – individual guidance towards studies and the workforce

    Stadin Futura is individual and group guidance on choosing a profession, developing your learning skills and identifying your skills and strengths. The service kicks off with an initial interview where you agree on the content and duration.

    Who is the service for?

    For clients of Helsinki Employment Services between the ages of 18 and 29 who require support for choosing the right profession and applying for studies.

    How can I participate in the service?

    Before signing up, agree on your participation with your assigned employment services specialist.

    After you sign up, the teacher responsible for Futura will contact you so that you can agree on the date and location of your first meeting. 

    Conditions for participating in the service:

    Stadin Futura is intended for clients of Helsinki Employment Services between the ages of 18 and 29 who require support for choosing the right profession and applying for studies or determining the support measures required for studies. 

    No minimum language proficiency requirement. Before signing up, talk about your participation with your assigned employment services specialist. Registration is binding.

    Benefits of participating in the service:

    Through Stadin Futura, you will receive individual support for identifying your strengths, clarify your future path and take the next step towards studies or the workforce. We will support you by walking alongside you as you clarify and reach your goals, and we will make sure that you know what your next steps are going to be.

    If necessary, the Stadin Futura individual and group coaching can include an assessment of your learning skills and language proficiency, on which you have the option to receive a statement from a special education teacher. You can make use of this statement when applying for studies or to determine the support measures that you require for studies. 

    Participants in Stadin Futura are registered in the Wilma student information system of Stadin AO’s (Helsinki Vocational College and Adult Institute) employment and skills services. Stadin Futura is comparable to part-time studies. 

    How is the service organised?

    Stadin Futura kicks off with an initial interview and continues with either individual or group coaching, according to your needs. 

    Individual coaching includes three (3) in-person meetings. You will agree on the date, duration and location of each meeting with your teacher. 

    Group coaching includes a series of in-person meetings held during the same week (for five (5) days). The daily meetings last for four (4) hours and take place between 10.00 and 14.00. Location: Kullervonkatu 11, 00610 Helsinki. 

    Key content of the individual and group coaching:

    • recognising and verbalising your skills
    • information on training programmes, professions and different ways to study
    • visits to study places
    • further plan and support for enrolling
    • if necessary, the coaching can include an assessment of your learning skills and language proficiency by a special education teacher, and you have the option to receive a statement on the assessment.
