Implementation
Employment plan
You are entitled to already draw up an employment plan with the employment authority during the term of notice. The employment plan specifies the tasks and services that will best support you in quickly finding a new job.
Employment leave and provision of training and occupational health services by the employer
You can take employment leave during your term of notice if your employment contract is terminated for production-related or economic reasons. This paid leave is intended for purposes such as independent job seeking or consulting employment services. You can also take employment leave by taking partial days off. However, you must agree on taking employment leave in advance with your employer, and when you do take employment leave, it must not cause major hindrance to the employer. The practices related to taking employment leave are agreed on at the workplace.
The number of employment leave days is determined based on your term of notice. If your term of notice is:
at least one (1) month, you are entitled to five (5) days of employment leave
longer than one (1) month but no longer than four (4) months, you are entitled to 10 days of employment leave
longer than four (4) months, you are entitled to 20 days of employment leave.
If your employer regularly employs at least 30 people and your employment relationship with the employer has continued uninterrupted for at least five (5) years, the employer must provide you with the opportunity to take part in coaching or training promoting employment that the employer has purchased or organised. Furthermore, the employer must provide occupational health services for you for six months from the end of your obligation to work.
Extended transition security for jobseekers aged 55 or over
If you are aged 55 or older, you may be entitled to extended transition security services, which include transition security allowance, transition security training and extended employment leave. For more information, see Transition security 55+ / Extended transition security for jobseekers aged 55 or over | Employment services’ Service Manual. Please note that you must register as a client of employment services within 60 days of being dismissed from work (receiving the notice of termination) in order to retain your right to extended transition security.
