Appointments with employment services’ public health nurse / 18–29-year-olds
Ohjaamo is intended for young people aged 18 to 29 who require an assessment and examination of their work ability and functional capacity. During an appointment, you can undergo a health check-up for an unemployed person and discuss other concerns.

Who is the service for?

Ohjaamo’s public health nurse services are intended for young people aged 18 to 29 who need to assess their work ability and functional capacity. Appointments are tailored to your needs.
At Ohjaamo, you can also meet with a public health nurse to talk about other challenging situations in life for which you require advice or support. The public health nurse will welcome you as you are!

How can I participate in the service?
You can make an appointment with Ohjaamo’s public health nurse through an employment specialist from employment services. If necessary, you can also contact the public health nurse yourself through the Ohjaamo website and make an appointment.
You can see the appointment details in the Maisa client portal if you use this service. If you are not a Maisa user, you will receive the appointment details directly from the Ohjaamo public health nurse via text message, phone call or email.
Before your appointment, you will receive preliminary information forms via Maisa for you to fill in. It is recommended that you fill them in.
Conditions for participating in the service:
You will meet with Ohjaamo’s public health nurse once, after which further appointments can be agreed upon separately.
An appointment can be easily arranged. There are no requirements for appointments, you are welcome to come as you are.
Benefits of participating in the service:
All appointments will be implemented individually, with consideration to your needs!
During appointments, the public health nurse makes entries about the appointment in the patient information system Apotti. This is to facilitate the flow of information between professionals.
During the appointment, the public health nurse may write referrals for you to services such as physiotherapy, nutritional therapy or a laboratory according to your needs. The need for referrals is always assessed individually during an appointment.
At the meeting, you will receive support and advice on how to access different healthcare services in Vantaa.
The public health nurse can provide their own assessment of your work ability and functional capacity and talk with you about your obligation to apply for work if you have health issues.
Your personal coach will help you fill in the consent form, or you can come to Ohjaamo’s guidance centre to fill it in.
How is the service organised?
The goal of the free-of-charge health check-up performed by the public health nurse is to identify any hindrances to your work ability, support your wellbeing and life management, and promote your health, functional capacity and work ability.
It is also possible to arrange a telephone appointment.
You should reserve an hour for your appointment or even more time if necessary and agreed on.
Remember to cancel your appointment if the scheduled time is not convenient for you.
When you come in for your appointment with Ohjaamo’s public health nurse, the public health nurse will pick you up from Ohjaamo’s guidance centre. So please wait for the public health nurse there.
