Who is the service for?
This service is intended for international private clients who have recently moved or are planning to move to Finland and the Helsinki Metropolitan Area. The Employer Services are primarily intended for employers operating in the Uusimaa region.IHH’s services are suitable for international individuals who have recently moved to Finland and the Helsinki Metropolitan Area and who need to initiate official matters with public authorities for the first time. Pre-arrival services are also available online for those planning a move to Finland before they even arrive in the country.
Additionally, IHH’s services are suitable for private clients and employer clients who belong to the target group and require advisory services and services that will support them in settling in.

How can I participate in the service?
IHH is a hybrid service. Its various services are available in person (appointments and walk-ins), by phone and online (webinars, website, email and chat). Some official services provided by public authorities require you to make an appointment in advance.
The IHH website lists all of the services available and provides information on which services require you to make an appointment before you visit a customer service point.
Additional information about the use of services: In order for public authorities to be able to initiate procedures, please bring the necessary documents with you when visiting the service point. The necessary documents depend on the public authority and matter in question. Some services require official translations of documents issued abroad. Before using the services, please confirm which documents you should bring with you.
Participation in the service requires the client to be an international client who has recently moved to Finland and the Helsinki Metropolitan Area and who needs to initiate official matters with public authorities in Finland for the first time. IHH also provides international clients who have moved to the Helsinki Metropolitan Area with services that support them in settling in. Additionally, persons who are planning to move to the Helsinki Metropolitan Area from abroad can receive advisory services online before arriving in the country.
You can initiate official matters under the remit of several different public authorities through a single service point. Additionally, IHH offers advisory services. Employer clients can receive the advice they require on topics such as international labour and its recruitment as a remote service. The purpose of this service package is to speed up and streamline the process of international people and their families arriving and settling down in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area and entering the labour market, as well as help companies and employers make better use of the international talent already available in the region.
How is the service organised?
International House Helsinki is a joint service point that offers most of the advisory and official services required by newly arrived immigrants under one roof. Additionally, IHH offers advice on international labour and its recruitment as a remote service for employer clients.
The public authorities represented at International House Helsinki include the Cities of Helsinki, Espoo and Vantaa, Employment Services, the Digital and Population Data Services Agency (DVV), the Finnish Tax Administration (Vero), the Social Insurance Institution of Finland (Kela), the Finnish Immigration Service (Migri), the Helsinki Region Chamber of Commerce, the Finnish Centre for Pensions (ETK), and the Central Organisation of Finnish Trade Unions (SAK).
