Personal job coaching is intended for unemployed and non-unemployed clients. Job coaching is a personal guidance service tailored to your personal needs and situation, provided for 2–8 hours per month. The duration is the initial month + 5 calendar months.

This service is intended for you if you are a jobseeker client of Helsinki Employment Services. You do not have to be unemployed in order to participate in the coaching. You may have health difficulties or other factors hindering your employment, but your work ability must allow you to at least participate in a work try-out or part-time work, for instance. In order to participate in the service, you must have a sufficient level of language proficiency without the help of an interpreter.

If the service is a good fit for you, the specialist will fill in a service order form to register you for the service.

Participation in the service is obligatory once the coaching has been ordered and you have agreed on your participation in it in your employment plan or another corresponding plan.
Benefits of participating in the service
Job coaching is a personal guidance service tailored to your personal needs and situation. You will be supported by a coach, with whom you will be able to seek solutions promoting employment through goal-oriented work.
During the coaching, you can complete certificate training or a competence passport (occupational safety card, hot work licence, alcohol passport, age limit passport and hygiene passport) if it promotes your employment. Your assigned employment services specialist can place an order to include a competence passport or certificate training as part of the coaching, or you can agree on their completion with the coach during the coaching.
You will receive support for finding a job or a study place and applying for them, as well as entering or consolidating an employment relationship. The coaching is a good fit for you if you are considering changing careers or planning on becoming an entrepreneur. During the coaching, you will receive information on different work and training options as well as support for identifying your skills.
If you do not have a computer, you have the option to borrow a computer from the service provider for in-person meetings if needed.
Conditions for participating in the service
You can participate in the coaching in Finnish, Swedish or English. You must have a sufficient level of language proficiency, meaning that you are able to talk with the coach without the help of an interpreter or assistant. Coaching can also be provided in sign language (Finnish, Finland-Swedish and American Sign Language). The service provider is responsible for organising sign language interpreting.
You may have health difficulties or other factors hindering your employment, but your work ability must allow you to at least participate in a work try-out or part-time work, for instance.
How can I participate in the service?
The service entails personal job coaching for jobseeker clients of Helsinki Employment Services.
You can agree on the meeting dates and times for the coaching with the coach. The meetings may take place in person or via a remote connection. The first meeting will be an in-person meeting unless you agree on other arrangements with your assigned specialist. The service is implemented in Helsinki.
The first coaching meeting will be held roughly two weeks after you place your order. The service concludes at the end of its maximum duration, which means the initial month + 5 calendar months. You must participate in the service for at least two (2) hours per month.
