    How is the service organised?

    Implementation

The rehabilitative work activities are a social service organised in accordance with the Social Welfare Act for the purpose of strengthening the ability of long-term unemployed persons to manage their life and everyday routines, as well as their work ability and functional capacity, and prevent their social exclusion. It is a last-resort service, and it must be coordinated with the other social, healthcare and rehabilitation services, public employment services and other services and support measures required by the individual.

Rehabilitative work activities comprise 4–8 hours of work on 2–4 days a week. The maximum duration of the activities is 4 x 3 months (178 days over 12 months), with the exception of integrated locations, where the maximum duration is 24 months (178 days over 12 months). Rehabilitative work activities are also implemented as group activities. The group convenes 2–4 times per week for 4 hours a day, for three months.

Rehabilitative work activities are organised at the coaching houses of the wellbeing services county of Vantaa and Kerava, of which Koutsi, Reeli and Luxi are located in Vantaa. Coaching houses Jenga and Valtti are located in Kerava. Integrated locations for rehabilitative work activities can be situated in the premises of different City divisions (e.g. early education centres, schools, services for older people) or in government agencies, organisations, foundations or associations.
