I have no vocational education
If you have no vocational education at all, first check what kind of labour market training is provided by your employment area. The free-of-charge vocational labour market training enables you to obtain an initial vocational qualification, a vocational qualification or a specialist vocational qualification, or part of these qualifications.
You can talk with a guidance counsellor or career choice psychologist to help you think about your choice of profession. By taking part in job coaching, you can receive support from your personal coach for selecting a new profession.
Student unemployment security
Please note that a student’s primary benefit is the study grant. You can also ask your designated specialist about the possibility of studying independently on unemployment allowance. Independent studies refer to education provided by an educational institution that is in charge of its own student admission instead of Employment Services.
During labour market training, your right to unemployment allowance is retained. It is also possible for you to study part-time and in the short term without losing your right to unemployment allowance. Always notify your designated specialist when planning new studies.
