Who is the service for?
Young people can visit the Ohjaamotalo guidance centre’s Starttipiste service points without an appointment and take care of current matters in their life. Young people can also contact Starttipiste anonymously, if they wish. Ohjaamotalo’s services are suitable for young people who have questions about becoming independent and the transition stages in life, particularly when it is time for them to find a job or apply for studies. Ohjaamotalo’s services also include support and advice on matters related to livelihoods, wellbeing, housing, life management and recreational opportunities.

How can I participate in the service?
The Starttipiste service points provide young people with advice and guidance without an appointment. You can book an appointment with Ohjaamotalo’s services either by calling Starttipiste or visiting in person.
Ohjaamotalo’s services are suitable for young people aged 14 to 29 who have questions about becoming independent and the transition stages in life, particularly when it is time for them to find a job or apply for studies. The service also offers support for matters related to livelihoods, wellbeing, housing and recreational opportunities.
The advisory services are completely voluntary for clients. Young people can access the actual service by consenting to it.
How is the service organised?
Young people can visit Ohjaamotalo’s Starttipiste service points without an appointment and take care of current matters in their life. Ohjaamotalo helps young people find information, provides advice on benefits and interacting with public authorities, and helps young people prepare job applications and CVs, for instance. If necessary and if the young person so wishes, Ohjaamotalo will direct the young person to a suitable service.
Advice and guidance are available without an appointment for matters such as the following:
- Kela benefits
- job search skills
- housing guidance
- walk-in therapy
- exercise guidance
- recreational opportunities and hobbies.
Services available by appointment:
- guidance for young people of compulsory school age
- study and careers guidance
- substance abuse and mental health nurse
- financial and debt counselling
- psychosocial support (ONNI activities of Ohjaamo guidance centres).
Ohjaamotalo also hosts open activities, group activities and events.
The Starttipiste service points are open as follows: in Leppävaara Mon–Tue and Thu–Fri from 12.00 to 16.00 and at Iso Omena Service Centre on Wednesdays from 12.00 to 16.00. Further information and opening hours: www.espoo.fi/en/youth/ohjaamotalo
