I wish to learn Finnish or Swedish and find a job in Finland
The employment areas serve integration clients who have registered as jobseekers.
If you received your first residence permit for Finland less than three years ago, you may be entitled to an integration plan. An employment services specialist will draw up the integration plan with you.
Your integration plan may include arrangements for you to take part in civic orientation or integration training, for example. In multilingual civic orientation, you learn basic information about Finland in a language that you know well. In integration training, you will learn Finnish or Swedish and other skills needed in Finnish society and working life.
Integration clients outside the labour force
Integration clients outside the labour force include people such as parents caring for a child at home and pensioners. Some employment areas also serve integration clients outside the labour force. For some integration clients outside the labour force, the same services are provided by their home municipality.
Integration services are also available to integration clients outside the labour force. For example, employment areas offer language courses with childcare provided during the lessons.
My integration period has passed
If you received your first residence permit for Finland over three years ago, you are not entitled to an integration plan. Some employment areas organise Finnish and Swedish language training, skills assessments and coaching also for people without an integration plan.
